2019 is the bi-centenary of George Eliot's birth. 'George Eliot at 200' brings together leading writers (including Rosemary Ashton, Marina Warner, and Kathryn Hughes), actors, and descendants of Eliot's and G. H. Lewes's families to discuss what George Eliot means to them, how she has impacted on their lives and work, and to share thoughts about Eliot's broader social and cultural significance. The afternoon will consist of short presentations from speakers, followed by Q&A sessions, and will include Andrew Davies on adapting George Eliot for television and a reading from George Eliot's works by actors Serena Evans and Gabriel Woolf.
