This is a practical course for beginners and those with experience to learn or improve Gothic Black Letter script. The tools and materials as well as the principles of calligraphy will be considered to ensure greatest progress, and a set of writing sheets are supplied which provide an aide memoire after the course. Minuscule as well as majuscule letters will be covered as well as spacing and writing words. In the afternoon quills will be cut from swan feathers and small pieces of vellum will be prepared for writing a name with the newly cut quill. No experience necessary and everything is provided.
